For the past couple weeks, my home church has been on this sermon series called “Deeper “and the importance of going into a deeper relationship with God and being able to experience His presence like never before.

Last night as I was tossing and turning in bed the Lord was tugging at me with this word, Shoreline or Deep End. I believe that God is calling us to pick a side. Do you want to stay on the shoreline or do you want to go to the deep end? The decision lies in each of us because just when you think you’re deep in; there will always be room to go deeper.

Here is a quick comparison between the two:

·         Shallow waters

·         Safety (comfort zone)

·         Stagnant (no growth)

·         Everything looks beautiful from afar (wishful thinkers)

Deep End

·         Uncharted territory (the unknown)

·         You see and Experience the Unseen (what few people see)

·         Unprecedented Growth

·         New Perspective

There are more that you could add to the list but this is a great starting point for you to weigh out the pros and cons. It’s still very early in the year for you to make a stance and say; this year will be a different one, not because it’s a new year but because you have a different mentality. Will you remain in the shoreline or take that leap of faith and go for it. Yes, it will be scary and unpredictable at times but ..oh, so worth it when we walk in deep waters with Jesus!

I wholeheartedly believe that He is calling us into a deeper walk with Him. God has a lot of amazing plans for you this year (don’t dismiss it, believe it!) believe that this year the plans He has for you will come to pass, believe that the plans in your heart are not just good ideas but are God ideas!

The only way to progress is to move forward. Staying in the same place day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year will not bear you any fruit; in turn, it will cause your growth to stunt. You have to take a step forward and just move. Pastor Sammy Rodriguez said this on his social media platform: “The word “go” appears 1542 times in the Bible while the word “stay” 62. God wants you to “go” and live out his plan for your life.”

Be encouraged today and know that with every step you take, God is with you. You just have to move and go in the direction that He is leading you to. And as you go in deeper into His presence, things will start to become clearer.

From afar, you think you know what you see. However, your vision may become hazy and unclear.  It isn’t until you move closer that you really come to grips with what lies before your eyes. God is calling us to come closer and admire every detail of what He has in store for us.

Be Encouraged, Be Blessed!
