We are too consumed with everything going on around us that we are losing focus of what really matters in life. We tend to forget about the small details in life because we are too busy figuring out what the “big” picture should look like.

God is orchestrating every single detail in your life

and working them together for your good.

David reminds us as he reminded his soul, I can just picture him giving himself a pep talk; “Hey buddy, listen up! You are to praise God whether you like it or not, whether you are in the mood or not, whether you want to or not… don’t you dare for one second forget all that He has done for you.” Make sure you remember EVERYTHING....all the goodness and mercy He’s shown you. Forget Not His benefits! Listen here: Don't start with me, not today Satan, nope, not today! I will bless the Lord AT ALL TIMES, all day, everyday!” Can you picture a similar conversation? As for me, that's pretty much an exact replica of what I would say to myself. Sometimes you just have to slap yourself back to reality- the reality of the Word of God, not that of your circumstance.

Today, I would like for us to have a pep talk with ourselves and make sure we are held accountable for our words and actions. Despite of what your day looks like or what season you are walking in, don’t you dare forget His benefits and how good He has been to you. You may not see it today but I’m sure you saw some sort of goodness from God yesterday and you will surely see it again tomorrow. Psalms 103:2 says: Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

David knew that there were bad days ahead but He was also conscience of all the goodness and mercy, love and favor he had received from the Lord in the past and one thing was sure in his mind and it was this: If God was able to deliver him, protect him and bless him in the past, He knew that God would do the same thing for him in the future.

Do not get discouraged, life is tough and may seem unfair at times but on the flip side, life is beautiful. And if we were to count all of the blessings, I am certain, it would exceed the misfortune. Trust me when I say, God is not done with you, there is more to you and your story and it will unfold right before your eyes. If you hang tight, you will see greatness because God is orchestrating every single detail in your life and working them together for your good.

Jesus speaking to the disciples told them this, and today He tells you the same thing. Are you ready for this because this is a powerful declaration: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” He didn't promise a world free of pain but He promised His peace. Rest in His promises. Trust in His purpose.

Give God glory at all times, Surrender completely to Him in your Storm, Worship Him while your Wait. Seize the Season your are in. Maximize the the Moment. Praise Him in your Pain. Trust Him in Your Trials, Forget Not because He is Fails Not.

God rejoices when He sees a sincere and pure heart that loves and praises Him unconditionally. You heard that? Unconditional Love. Can we show God that we love him not because of what He can give to us but because of who He is? Today is a good day to tell the Lord Thank you for everything! For the good, the bad and the ugly because we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Forget Not His Benefits!

I'll leave you with the first five verses of this incredible poetic expression that David wrote, I encourage you to read the rest of it on your own time.

Psalms 103:1-5

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Be Encouraged, Be Blessed!
